Projects
Project #1 Corporeal Handling System(CHS)
Duration : 10 months
Role:Involved in the functional requirement study and analysis. Played
a major role in the development of Stores Management System
Environment VisualAge 4.0, Windows '95 and Oracle 7.1
Description Material management deals mainly with procurement
and storing of materials of a company.Entire system is sub-divided into
Purchase Maintenance(Generally handled by purchase department) and Stores
Maintenance (Generally handled by the stores department).
Any department needs material which it feels it is short off or out
of stock that department asks the stores for the required material. The
material that is requested by the department should be supplied at a faster
pace to solve their purpose. At the same time it needed to empower the
materials force with tools to analyze the departments requirements and
to better forecast demand and minimize the delay in the supply of materials
all while reducing the inbound calls to the stores service department. This
was achieved at a lower cost.
The development of this system included the mechanism called the fill
and spill which effectively gave us the data entry and the removing of
the unwanted data. And also wizards were used to describe the each and every
state of the flow of the system more descriptive manner.
Few third party components were developed for the reusability sake
of the system which includes Navigation buttons and etc.
Methodology The methodology used for the development of
the system was:
Rumbaugh's methodology for the purpose of notational standards and
for the development of Object model and design.
While developing the system we used Play Ground tool designing the
object model developed by Parc Place.
